"You Can't Smell S*** When It's Covered With Roses". After reading the book, my first reaction was "Wow"! It reads like an autobiography peeking into the lives of so many women trying to find peace in the midst of a dysfunctional relationship. I rode the rollercoaster ride of highs and lows the lead character experienced in her pursuit of love and happiness along with the agonizing sorrow of a dream turning into a nightmare. I thoroughly enjoyed reading the book for in it lies a cautionary tale of how the heart can look beyond warning signs, lead you down the road to destruction, and how it takes courage to rebuild mentally, physically and spiritually.

I used to be an avid reader but over the last few years I hadn't had time to read. This book as renewed my love for reading. The main character is very relatable and deals with many of the challenges most single women over 40 face. Even though she makes some poor choices by ignoring God's voice when he spoke to her concerning This Dude, in the end she finds her way back to her inner consciousness and begins to hear the voice of God loud and clear.

This book tugs at all of a female's emotions. You are pulled into all of her situations and you feel as if it's you. I cried with her, I laughed with her and I helped plot her revenge with her lol. For a first time author, Daphne Hampton does a great job of pulling you into the story. A must read and buy.
