An essential and indispensable kitchen resource for healthier living By Ronny P We've only had this book for a short period, in ebook format, so haven't had a chance to try most of the recipes yet. So initially I'll restrict this review to the contents, and will update it as we try more recipes. What I can commend Chef Gui on is his philosophy, which is along similar lines to mine. Healthy cooking and eating should revolve around using simple, wholesome and natural ingredients, avoiding processed items as much as possible. Use organic where you can. Avoid sugars. Just starting with these simple ideas as a basis for what we eat provides a healthier lifestyle.Regards the recipes, they are broken up into the categories of:- Breakfast- Appetizers- Main Courses- Sides- SnacksIn case you're wondering about desserts, Chef Gui has published a series of books specifically on desserts, which we also own. They appear to be uniformly excellent, and I believe are worth getting as a supplement to this cook book. However as we've only had these a short time as well, we haven't had a chance to try most of the recipes yet. More to come on these later...Regarding the recipes, the book is very well presented and easy to read. One or more pages is devoted to each recipe, clearly showing the ingredients and preparation instructions, along with the active (preparation) time, cooking time, and yield (servings), along with additional tips and time saving hints. I'm a middle-aged male who's not an experienced cook, but I had no problems following it. Accompanying each recipe is a high quality photo of the finished item, showing the serving info including; calories, fat, carbs, protein, fibre and sugar. The Chef's family favourite recipes are highlighted, but they all look amazing.Quite often I find the recipes in similar cook books promoting a healthier eating regime to be too complex, or surprisingly dull; with hard to obtain ingredients, and often bland and tasteless. I've always found that Chef Gui has simplified his recipes so that they can be prepared by most people with relative ease, using common ingredients you're already likely to find in your kitchen fridge and pantry. And they've never been bland, but super scrummylicious! For me it's also the mark of good recipes that they can be repeated consistently. There's nothing worse than the same dish turning out very differently each time you cook it. From reading through this book, it appears that Chef has continued to apply these traits to all these recipes. Well done.BTW if you pick up the ebook edition as I did, it would be quite easy to print a copy of each recipe to use in your kitchen if you preferred a hard copy to work from. You can pick up cheap plastic sleeves at your local office supplier, and these make excellent protective covers for your printed recipes. Personally I've loaded the ebook on my iPad, and that has worked very well for me. I find it easier to use than a hard cover book. While we've only tried a couple of the recipes in this book, I've been following Chef Gui's recipes for some time through the publisher, Early To Rise, and can highly recommend their excellent free email newsletter of the same name. All of his recipes that we've tried so far have been great; easy to prepare, delicious, and very healthy. For me it was a no-brainer to pick up this book, and we've been very happy with it so far. We can't wait to try out the Spinach and Tomato Frittata, and old favourites like Chicken Pot Pie, and Old-Fasioned Meatloaf. The book ends with a comprehensive 8 page index; listing individual dishes, and also breaking them down by the main categories, and the main ingredients. After purchasing many cook books in recent years which don't bother to include an index, this simple addition makes the book so much more usable and easier to find what you're looking for.So what extra material could be included in the book? For me it would be nice to see some meal plans. And while it's not something we have with every meal, it would be helpful to have some wine recommendations to go with the recipes. After all, he is a French chef!In summary, yes this is yet another cook book, but I personally believe it offers enough to differentiate it from most others here at Amazon and is well worth purchasing. Chef Gui's philosophy is to eat well and live a healthy lifestyle, but doing so by eating food that often doesn't fit with that objective. In that regards I believe he has succeeded admirably. So I can give Eat More, Burn More: Stuff Your Face, Still Lose Weight! a well earned 5 star rating.Additional note: This is my first review at Amazon, and I hope you find it useful. And yes, I did pay for the book; it wasn't provided free. Normally I write about technical topics, having worked in IT for 35+ years. So this is completely different for me. I sincerely hope you find Chef Gui's work as helpful as we have, in moving to a healthier lifestyle. Enjoy!

Hnath I purchased Eat More Burn More book and have made 5 recipes out of it so far and they have all been delicious. It is the first cook book I have bought in a while where I have so very many page corners turned down of recipes I want to try. I really like that it has a lot of recipes for interesting things to do with veggies for side-dishes since I am bored with plain green veggies with my meals. I especially loved the fresh beets and the yellow summer squash recipes. The writer adds a lot of simple ingredients that really make the flavors pop. I highly recommend this book and plan to buy a second copy for a Christmas present!

My favorite healthy cookbook By Michelle Kruse This book is great for anyone who wants to eat healthy - but is bored with the standard grilled chicken and steamed broccoli. I love the interesting new veggie recipes. My family and dinner guests love the presentation and the taste of these healthy meals. I admit, as a health professional, I tend to get in a rut and make the same few go to meals - all the time. Now I have some new favorites to add in the rotation as well as some great recipes when I want to try something new. This book is beautifully laid out, easy to understand. I have a few cookbooks - but this is the one on my kitchen counter!!
