The artwork alone is worth more than the price of the book, and the cooking magic is priceless. Ruju is the bridge entity between the two authors, Ruth and Judith, a perfect example of family consciousness. Everyone on our gift list gets a copy of Recipes From a Past Life (RFPL)!I first saw RFPL over my wife’s shoulder as she was first reading it. I saw a charming picture of a woman standing at a sink doing kitcheny things. As she slowly turned pages, I felt more intrigued and deeply involved in this non-stop tour-de-force of down-home gourmet cooking served up with stunning folk art that touched my soul with sweetness and light.I'm an avid family man, so for me, RFPL really accents the difference between life in a the human family and life in packs, flocks, and herds. The illustrations are lovely and appear to be hand drawn for my bookalone. The stories are beautiful and add so much to the recipes. I feel like I know the writer and artist personally after following her story line . I have tried several of the recipes as the author makes it very clear about technique to make them and all have turned out delicious. I have given this book to several friends for the holidays I was so impressed. I highly recommend this book to all who love life stories and cooking. I especially love the eggplant and the chocolate cake!!
