6 of 6 people found the following review helpful. Fun cookbook, if not exactly what it's advertised to be... By kne I was so excited for this cookbook, especially since the concept sounded even better than the first - restaurant recipes that were actually suited for the home cook. So far every recipe I've tried has been tasty, and I always wanted to know how to make those delicious bakery sweet rolls! Just one gripe - although the recipes were ostensibly chosen for their home cook-friendliness, some are more practical than others. For example, one appetizer involves parboiling rice and then chilling it for 4 hours before sautéing it with pulled beef (and who do you think has to sit and pull the beef?) and kimchi (probably homemade if you keep kosher, so there's another do-ahead step) and then topping it with homemade pickled carrots and a soft-boiled egg. Seriously? I like to cook as much as the next girl, but that appetizer(!) is more work than I would put into an entire meal. Several of the other recipes involved a lot more work and/or exotic ingredients than a typical home cook might be willing to invest, and I'm someone who enjoys cooking and will sometimes go the extra mile. Still, though, I'm really enjoying the cookbook and it makes a great gift.
2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Wonderful cookbook By Amazon Customer To start -I am a huge fan of all their cookbooks! However, this cookbook is beyond! It is amazing! I tried about 10 dishes for a Chanukah party and not only were they not difficult to make but they were all absolutely delicious and enjoyed by all! I recommend this cookbook to anyone that enjoys cooking and providing scrumptious meals to their family!

The pictures are beautiful and I love reading all the little tidbits on the side. If you are on the fence about this, get it, your family will thank you!
