Not only does she meet the mysterious and frightening Magenta, Mary herself discovers she has extraordinary abilities beyond her understanding (and ability to handle!).The Mary Fisher series tells a unique story about a very unique heroine.Both Volume 1, The Sisters Find a New Home, and Volume 2, An Unco Body in an Unco Land, hinted at supernatural elements. Volume 3 leaves no doubt. Mary is exposed to and overwhelmed by unexplained events in the seemingly utopia town Greenhaven and by the mysterious powers of not only herself but others. Mystery abounds throughout Greenhaven. At the same time Mary must deal with her struggles towards becoming an independent adult and with her conflicting emotions with her "forever friend" Abigail.As with the first two volumes and the stand alone novel, Loggerhead, the author T. A. Peters has written an extraordinary tale with extraordinary characters who come alive in the reader's mind.
