By Jacob Brown I'm not really fond of eating healthy until I got sick. Haha. Yeah! So now I have to eat them, no choice. Eating the same kinda stuff every day got me bored so I searched for ways to make my vegetables and fruits experience exciting and luckily a friend of mine gave me this book in paper back.It gives out a lot of exciting ways you can prepare your vegetables - soups, noodles, desserts, snacks, smoothies, lunch, dinner, and lots more. So you may now enjoy your vegetables and fruits in a different way but still very nutritious and healthy.Enjoy!

Am more into the juice section because I like drinking more than the eats, So I guess the first 4 recipes will work for me like green juice and green energy smootie or the Clementine Creamsicle Smoothie. Possibly this will help your body pick and choose from a larger variety of foods to crave! This helps you eat a more balanced, nutritious diet and we should be taking in more greens to reduce on the toxins from the oils we eat on a daily basis.

I often eat meat as well as the kids. But later on I noticed I am being lazy eating veggies. I asked my friend to help me out and then he recommended this book. So far so good. I like the idea of including even one recipe in a meal. In fact, me and my kids tried one of the dish and found it so delicious. I would love to prepare a veggie recipe once a day. Thanks for the help!

Beautiful as always, but could use a little more content By Will First let me say, as I will never get the pleasure of telling her in person, how great it is that Nigella has moved on to a new home and is embracing her "Temple Food" even further with these Asian and Moroccan-inspired dishes. While I think she is (well, must be...) as strong and inspiring as she is beautiful, the book lacks the substantive content of predecessors like "Feast", "How To Eat", and "Express" (I'd like more of your writing if not recipes, and fewer or smaller food pics) that could have occupied some space from the many photographs. Still, she is Nigella, and so I had to buy it and use it as I have her nine other books that are as enjoyable to read- she really is a very engaging writer- as they are to cook from. Here she is clearly evolving from not just providing comfort to others but sharing what has been good for her these last couple of challenging years, and we are better for it Nigella has carried on Julia Child's message of enjoying food and its preparation, and deserves respect for that....not just for her magnetic charm and goddess exterior.

Everything You Always Wanted to Know about Coffee (But Were Afraid to Ask) By Jeffrey Miller In one of the early episodes of the cult TV show Twin Peaks (1990) FBI Agent Dale Cooper (Kyle MacLaclan) is asked how he takes his coffee. "Black as midnight on a moonless night," he answers. For years, ever since one night back in 1977 when I was working the graveyard shift in the U.S. Air Force in Panama, that is how I have taken my coffee because there was no cream or sugar available. Since that time, I have come to appreciate the full-bodied taste and aroma of a good cup of black coffee, and like Eliott's Prufrock, my life has been measured out in coffee spoons, for better or worse. However, after reading Steven Ward's brilliant book on coffee, The Coffeeist Manifesto: No More Bad Coffee! my coffee drinking needs a serious overhaul.In what could best be described as a manual on coffee making, Ward sets out to deliver a practical guide to making that damn fine cup of coffee (to quote another Dale Cooperism). And he does just that. His advice and suggestions, as well as his step-by-step guide, from roasting your own beans or buying the right coffee maker are both insightful as well as practical. Along the way his tongue-in-cheek prose makes for a very interesting read. Describing a coffee house in Seoul that advertised discounted premium robusta coffee he writes: "Anyone that puts `premium' and `robusta' in the same sentence doesn't deserve to be in the coffee business." Or when waxing philosophical about the efforts that go into bringing coffee to our mugs, he says, "Thinking about all that, isn't it kind of a waste to just mindlessly chug your 32-ounce ice coffee diluted with milk, chocolate syrup and whipped cream?"The book is filled with such witticisms, but in the end what Ward ultimately achieves is providing readers with valuable and practical information on making that damn fine cup of coffee. A great read for coffee enthusiasts By davidsmeaton I thought I knew a lot about coffee, but I definitely learned a few things after reading this book. The Coffeeist Manifesto is a good, detailed guide for coffee lovers and would-be enthusiasts. The book has everything from the basics of coffee, different brew types and a lot of coffee 'tips and tricks'. It even tells you how to make the most of visiting a coffee shop. The book also includes some interesting reading about the politics behind coffee.The book is well written, and is sprinkled with humour the occasional Star Wars reference. Good collection of caffeinated insights and advice By Don The Idea Guy I'm interested in all things coffee-related, so as soon as I saw the stunning design of the book cover and the call for "No more bad coffee!" I know the book must become mine!The author does a great job of sharing a brief history of coffee and it's popularity without overwhelming the reader with too much detail. Once he really gets into the areas of choosing the right beans and the ideal way to prepare this dark brew, his passion really shines. They did a phenomenal job of identifying all the common (and a few not-so) common ways to brew coffee, even covering the Espressi Mypressi Twist Espresso Maker - Espressi MT0901R and the Aerobie AeroPress Coffee and Espresso Maker (which I personally own and favor, despite most folks not even knowing it exists!)The paperback retails for just under $12 which seems about right to me for a physical book of this content and area of interest. I managed to get the Kindle version on one of the "free" days, but I would have happily paid $5 or $6 for the e-content.

Just the kind of day to curl up with a fire in the fireplace, and soft throw and a good book. That's the beauty of this cookbook as it's not just a cookbook, but a sort of journal as well--just the thing for a day like today. The author has a way with words that draws you in and lets you "see" what she's writing about. For instance, and Feb 27th she writes, "Wonder of wonders, a dry wind, which is like a balm after the humidity of the past few months, is blowing its way up the valley, whipping up a frenzy in the treetops and causing the palms to rattle their spikes like sabres." or July 12th where she writes, "A friend has dropped in a big bunch of cavolo nero, which I love. Do you know it? The name translates from the Italian as 'black cabbage', although its leaves are more a lovely dark green with just a tinge of blue. They're narrow and crinkly, and when you wash them they almost seem to be waterproof, as the drops slip off them, leaving silvery trails. We'll have it for dinner tonight with some grilled polenta. Perfect." which is then followed by the recipe for the dish.I love the variety of recipes in this book. From her take on classics such as Roast Chicken With Oodles of Herbs, Crunchy Rosemary Potatoes (which I LOVE), or Golden Tomato, Yellow Capsicum (Australian for Bell Pepper) and Fresh Mozzarella Salad which is a lovely variation of the classic Caprese Salad, to interesting dishes such as Middle Eastern Double Lentil Soup, Roast Sweet Potato with Smoked Parika, Parsley & Macadamia Pesto or Coiled Mushroom, Hazelnut & Dill Strudel, there is a little bit of everything is this book.We had a laid-back day yesterday, and so I decided to make the Saffron, Basil & Ricotta Tart for lunch. It had mixed reviews, but that was purely due to individual tastes. My youngest strongly disliked it, but she has an issue with certain textures in food that this dish definitely had a texture she never enjoys. My husband wasn't a huge fan, but "frou-frou" dishes such as quiches and tarts aren't really his thing. The rest of us thoroughly enjoyed it.Fruit prices are definitely on the high side around here lately, so I was thrilled to find some blueberries on sale. I thought of treating my family to blueberry muffins, but then I found the recipe for Blueberry Pikelets (Aussie pancakes) and decided to try them. They were a HUGE hit. The batter makes a delicious pikelet/pancake on its own, and the blueberries just make it even more special. We will be making this dish often!This is just an all-around, delightful cookbook. I have enjoyed reading it, cooking from it and eating the results. It is a great addition to my favorite cookbooks, and one that I am very happy to highly recommend.I received a copy of this cookbook from Penguin Lantern Press through IPG for my honest review. By Book Referees Our favorite characters are back in the finale we all been waiting for.This green-eyed beauty might look sweet but don't get it twisted she is as poisonous as they come. Jayde has her eye on a special man & nothing, or no one will stop her from getting who she wants and her connections makes it that much easier.After fighting like hell for respect, Tatum has finally got what she dreamed about her man and her engagement. Everything is starting to look up for them, but there is always a storm before the sunshine.Sasha hasn't been the good girl she is perceived to be, with more secrets than the law allows she is finally trying to right her wrong and get her life back on track. Although she has her man Chauncey by her side, she can't help to notice the distance between them. Sasha is ready to handle things once and for all.In this finale, these ladies will have to come together to prove love is thicker than water.I love the growth that I have seen from Takerra Allen. Her books are like no other. They pull you in from page one and don't let you go until the end often have the book still on your mind forever. I love the characters and the development of them throughout the series. I can't wait to see what else this author has in store.

Puts Allen In A Class All By Herself By Montoya_Mayan This third installment of the Thicker Than Water series puts Takerra Allen in a class all by herself. This was filled with intrigue, violence, sex, deception, and numerous deaths. We learn a lot about the main characters, Sasha and Tatum, and the men in their lives, Chauncey and Respect. We also find out which couple has what it takes to truly go the distance--and so much more.

It was a great ending to a great series and it is a page turner. Ms. Allen does an excellent job addressing the aspects of street life. Tatum was the true definition of a woman. She displayed great strength and courage when everyone would have understood if she broke down. I loved Tatum more than any other female character in this series. She was dealt a hand that contained hurt, betrayal, and emotional turmoil. But she played that hand instead of allowing the hand to play her! I love the way Ms. Allen writes her stories. She holds nothing back and she takes her readers on a ride that leaves them wanting more! Great job!

That shows the author knows what she's talking about.Everybody can use something from this book that will impress people. And its easy to re- reference the recipe's. I've really enjoyed this book. By M.B I knew when I saw this book I had to get it, My family loves breads so this is great for me, I also go to many functions during the holiday season and I love to bring little things,like breads or other little things, This book is packed full of some really great recipes for many different types and kinds of bread. I honestly didn't know where to start. So I started at the beginning,and went on. I have made 8 breads from this book so far and I have not been disappointed, Many of them have become hits of the party as everyone wants to know the recipe and where I got it. And, the recipes are easy to follow. But, this is also entertainingly well-written. Wes has done a masterful job of balancing the pictures with some fun descriptions before engaging the reader with the actual recipe. I think this adds so much. I also believe the front cover mirroring the back cover is clever. Five stars ... and more!

The recipes look delightful. And, the men/models are absolutely amazing. I definitely have a craving for a Watermelon Amortini and an Appletini, topped off with some cream puffs. :) Whatever your taste in food, or men, this beautiful, tastefully done cookbook has you covered.

By runk I've had the opportunity to work with two of the artists from this book, and the shear volume of inspiration from that experience was overwhelming. This book is no exception, very well put together short visual stories that deliver a 1-2 combo of creativity and style leaving you punch drunk and excited for another in this fresh series. Descriptions are given from each artist in regards to their process and inspiration for their respective story lines at the end of the book, giving you a peak into the brain of some very talented artists.

This volume features 10 artists, namely John-Paul Balmet, Molly Denmark, Andre Kirk, Dela Longfish, Jim Moore, Will Nichols, Carlos Sanchez, Jeff Sangalli, Amy Beth Christenson Smith and Chris Voy.Punch Drunk Moustache is a visual development art book where each artist has to come up with a concept with narrative. So in addition to the art, there's a visual narrative that ties the images together. You can say it's a sort of comics anthology but the artists are given more leeway and a much larger canvas. Most are stories without text while a handful are illustrated like picture books with text.The artworks are beautiful. I like that with more artists, there are now more styles and story genres to check out.Amy Beth Christenson's story is about a girl whose tribe was wiped out, and she has to explore the planet that's left behind. Haunting scenes are included. Jeff Sangallli's story is about his favourite toy being taken away by ladybugs. There are 10 short stories to enjoy, each with its own creative direction.It's a nice sequel to the first volume.

The diverse art and storytelling approaches gathered here are certainly inspirational. I would recommend this as a great book to add to your art/inspiration collection.

Taylor not only provides instruction, but expresses definite views on how to improve the status of the struggling professional, even suggesting a sample salary schedule. This reprinting from the original source is particularly well done. It's hoped that Taylor's later memoir--"Golf As I Have Known It"--will soon be reprinted as well.

Espero mas de Ethan y Rebeca By Lorena Chacón Tercer libro que leo de Mariah, y aunque es totalmente diferente a la saga de los libros "Reyes de la noche" y " Ciudad de Reyes " logra atraparte con su toque de intriga y acción. Puede que al principio la historia resulte un poco lenta, y no encuentres sentido al hincapié que hace la autora en conocer como crece poco a poco la atracción entre Ethan y Rebeca. Pero luego cuando los problemas y las amenazas surjan todo lo previo que vivieron hace mas entendible sus acciones y reacciones. Hay que darle una oportunidad porque realmente Mariah logra mantenerte con el corazón en la boca con las escenas de suspense. Espero que tengamos una continuación de esta historia porque creo que da para mas. Mariah quedo a la espera de tus nuevos trabajos.

Same Great Oz Clarke Reference Updated for 2016 But Less-Convenient Larger Format By PB2008 I purchase Oz Clarke's book every year, along with Hugh Johnson's Pocket Wine Book 2016 book. Each has its strengths. For Clarke he includes detailed well-written descriptions, a lot of vintage information, and provides slightly more coverage than Johnson - especially of individual producers. The vintage information goes much farther back in time and is far more comprehensive than in Johnson's book.Shortcomings are that he doesn't show which vintages are "at peak" and does not have a good section on matching food and wine. Johnson does both these, which is why I get both books.In the past I've given Oz 5 stars. Why now 4? The format of the book is larger - taller and wider. Yet I don't think there is new information and the print size is about the same. It is just more INconvenient on account of the larger size. I also have no clue why they changed the title and removed the year. But it IS the 2016 update!Still worth buying and highly recommended even though the size is less convenient.

12 of 13 people found the following review helpful. in beautiful, sensuous prose By lauren Cobb This gorgeously written and deeply perceptive novel vividly depicts the world of 19th century Paris, and just as vividly brings to life the consciousness of its young heroine, in beautiful, sensuous prose. From the first sentence to the last, I felt as if I were walking the Parisian streets with Victorine, as hungry for experience, for all life has to offer, as she is. The novel is a portrait of an artist and an engrossing--and unusual--love story, but it's also a meditation on what inspires art and artists, about who goes hungry and who is offered a seat at the table. I can't recommend Paris Red highly enough.

I wanted to know about Manet and his muse-model (I used to teach Art History) but this book has too many words and not enough depth or movement. I did not finish the book.
