About the Author Jennifer L. S. Pearsall is an editor, writer, and photographer in the outdoor sporting industry. She is the publisher of the blog TheBaconAffairs.com and author of The Big Book of Bacon (Skyhorse Publishing). Pearsall learned her craft in the kitchen through her mother and grandmothers, expanding her horizons and cooking talents as she moved about the country and experimented with the local cuisines of central California, the Virginia Tidewater area, and the heavily Tex-Mex–influenced fare of San Antonio. Today, Pearsall cooks pork nearly every day under the watchful eyes of her two Great Pyrenees pups, Lucy and Hayden, in her home in Newtown, Connecticut.

By Scott Rickert The first line on the cover of the book says "From Loin to Belly" yet she goes on in her book to explain that she decided to leave the belly out. What? No pork belly recipes? The recipes are sophomoric at best and you would do better searching the Epicurious or Food TV websites for pork recipes. As a pork afficianado, I had better expectations and unfortunately I can't even give this book as a gift with good conscience.
