Jean Moreau is not your ordinary monk. He is a spiritual man, to be sure, but he is very human. Temptation rocks his world – learn how he copes and what his trials can teach us. He values his connection to the Divine, and he shows us practical and useful ways to reconnect, as he recounts his incredible story. A good read with the backdrop of a surprising lifestyle. A very human tale and a parable for modern times. Book One of the Abbey of Kervennec series.

About the Author Clark Eide is an American-born author living in Uruguay and France. He is a retired financial services entrepreneur, professional singer, and a monastery devotee. His study of things spiritual has taken him around the world - from the USA to London, from France to Australia, Ireland to India. He is a former member of the College of Psychic Studies in London, and currently supports the Self-Realization Fellowship of Paramahansa Yogananda in Los Angeles. He has spent time at Plum Village, home of famed author and Buddhist monk Thich Nhat Hanh, and was present at the Dali Lama’s visit at Plouray, Brittany, experiencing at arm’s length his extraordinary presence. He has been a long-time student of Transcendental Meditation, and he has had the opportunity to visit with Indian pundits both in situ and in the United States on practical matters and astrology. He continues to be a student of alternative therapies such as Healing Touch, massage, hypnotherapy and EFT, and has studied with yoga masters in Australia, Ireland and Uruguay. He is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame. These encounters and experiences have taught him that spirituality is about one thing only - direct connection to the Divine. The author hopes that the story of Jean Moreau will prove a useful tool in illustrating a path to Awareness, the most critical first step to that connection and spiritual contentment. By Amos Smith Of all the Jungian Archetypes, such as Warrior, Lover, Magician, Queen/King, the archetype of the Monk is the most overlooked and has the most profound transformative power. In A Monk's Way, Clark Eide explores the inner self of the monk. His journey is personal and thoughtful. Eide's thoughts about the inner like are important in a world where people tend to over-focus on mass movements or appeals to the prevalence of reason. Eide hi-lights the journey within - the monk's journey. As Carl Jung states in his classic, "The Undiscovered Self," there are no easy solutions to the terrible crises of our industrialized world. And the transformation of our world depends on the recognition of good and evil in every individual and on a true exploration and understanding of the inner self.I highly recommend "A Monk's Way"-Amos Smith (author of Healing The Divide: Recovering Christianity's Mystic Roots

Even though it takes place in an abbey where few of us have been and which many outsiders would think would be all Catholic, it's a perfect setting for the discussions that follow. Those discussions treat our approach to God and God’s approach to us with common sense, simplicity and subtlety. Beautifully written in many parts, the story evokes what it's meant to evoke – empathy for the common man and hope for the future for all of us as we evolve to the next level. This is not a book for everyone, but for those who think about the eternal questions of existence. Having said that, it is a good story - believable and understandable and valuable. The good news is that there will be a sequel!
