Drew Bauer is a jaded math professor with a brilliant mind for dynamical systems. His life is about to spin out of orbit as he finds himself pulled to the epicenter of the fight for life itself. There's plenty of intrigue, romance and humor, with beautifully observed moments of clarity that always take us back to the human heart of the story.I was fortunate to read a Beta draft of the novel. I can't wait to see how it evolves.

By Shirley This novel is a fast paced technological thriller that quickly engrosses the reader in Professor Bauer’s dilemma of how to contribute to the team of scientists trying to prevent a world catastrophe. The team is being controlled by a powerful and wealthy oil magnate who measures up to a “James Bond” villain. The young woman scientist on the team becomes an ally and love interest that intensifies and embellishes the plot. The author enriches his plot with vivid descriptions of astrophysics, computer simulations and renderings, the world of academia, and North Carolina and California landscapes. The author throws in some humor from time to time as he develops his characters, particularly the character of Professor Bauer and Joe. It seems that with other characters, the author deliberately only gives us clues as to their real motives. This mystery keeps the reader guessing as to how these characters might figure into the plot (Broden, Liza, and the librarian). The ending leaves the reader with many un-answered questions about the future of earth as well as the characters. One would hope that this first time novelist gives us some answers and more of the story in future works.

Donna writes a great story with super character development. Her writing style is enjoyable as is the way she keeps the reader curious and wanting to read more. The Italians make more than 200 different sort of pasta with all kind of shapes, with about three times as many different names. New shape and “design” pasta are being produced all the time. Moreover, the same shape may have a different name in different region of Italy. It is the national treasure of the country. It would be hard to imagine if we didn’t discover pasta. It would make us as unhappy and incomplete as if Christopher Columbus had not attaint America. Pasta and noodles are more than staple foods: they are truly universal. Flour, water, oil and, where appropriate, an egg: it's simple but foolproof. Regardless of who invented them: with their varieties of sauces to infinity, pasta belongs to everyone, pasta belongs to you. All the experts are unanimous: starchy foods like pasta is not fattening, unless you consume excessive amounts. Indeed, they contain complex carbohydrates which are slowly absorbed by the body more efficiently delaying the return of hunger. It is easier to avoid "break" between meals. The real problem for pasta is rather how we prepare and we support the min sauces or grated cheese... So, there is a big difference between spaghetti in tomato sauce and spaghetti alla Carbonara! No anymore delay in getting this great pasta cookbook. Start to impress your friends and family but the most important is to please yourself by making some fantastic recipes with it.

His exhaustive journalistic studies have given us a timeless account of what it was like to both be a Native American and a Calvary fighter during the 1870's.Although Mr. Brady attempts to take an objective view of both sides, he is biased towards the Calvary and one cannot help but to ponder the Native Americans view point as they struggle for their freedom aganist unbeatable odds.I would recommend this book to anyone! One of the best books ever about the Sioux Wars By New England Pat The author's book is required reading for any student of the battles the U.S. cavalry had against the Sioux and Cheyennes from 1866 to 1877. All of the engagements are studied in detail and Brady had the great fortune to get first-hand accounts of the fighting from soldiers in the field during those hostilities. Brady's work is a pleasant read with a swift narrative and the love of his work is present on every page. The tone of Brady's book seems to suggests sympathy for the Indian plight because of the U.S. government's unfair posture that backed the Sioux and Cheyenne into a corner with no choice but to defend their homeland and hunting grounds. However, Brady is writing history from the white man's point of view and his bias creeps into his book on occasion. There are several pages of interesting correspondence between Brady and officers of the Seventh Cavalry regarding Custer's orders from General Terry and the letter and spirit of those orders. Great history and writing from the Reverend Brady.

I am not actually paleo and through their site asked the authors if I could pay extra for the colour version of this book; they sent me that and I have been working my way through the recipes ever since. My shuband and I love cooking the meals together and find them both tasty and filling. The fact that they're also healthy is a bonus. Great work Louise and Jeremy, this is an awesome book.

I leafed through a few pages, wondering if the story was any good, and was quite surprised to discover that this spiritual romance novel is not just good -- it's excellent!What if God appeared as a gorgeous man with long sable hair and a black jacket atop a Harley Davidson 1340cc motorcycle to a single 37 year-old woman? Could this be what it takes to help her shake off the self-limiting behaviors and beliefs that have stood between her and a happy life? You'd better believe it! I say little because it is very short, but it is jam packed with such truth, such faith.It's the story of Christine, a burned out nurse who is lonely and downright angry with the way her life has turned out. She bases her life on whether she has a relationship or not and is increasingly miserable and angry at the start of this fable.Then God arrives. He comes in the form of a handsome stranger on a Harley. Slowly, through this fable, he teaches her what she's been doing wrong and helps her find the meaning of life.This short book packs a very heavy message ... one that will make you reexamine your own thought processes and the direction of your life. It's a story that will linger in your thoughts for a long time ... it will hopefully make you think ... make you change ... grow.

Quite honestly, the title put me off a little. But after reading it, twice, I came away with a different view on a lot of issues relating to life and relationships on the whole and how women see the same things. I found it to be both inspirational and entertaining at the same time. Moving and thought provoking without being heavy handed or biased from a woman's perspective. My Christmas shopping encluded 10 copies which I gave as gifts, and I recieved several "Thank yous" after they had read it. Some of my friends even sent other copies to their friends. Very few books have actually impacted my life, but this one has. Not only has it reafirmed my belief that God does care about each of us, but that He has not lost His faith and there still is hope if we will just listen to what He has to say.

Both of the authors present very original and inventive stories that easily held my interest. I started reading this in the morning and had to go to work, so I brought it with me because I was so caught up. I was already familiar with Jesse Michaels and greatly enjoyed Whispering Bodies, but I ordered Sam McPheeters The Loom Of Ruin as soon as I finished reading this. I highly recommend reading this book.

About the Author Karen Triedman works as a designer and educator in the field of color design and visual merchandising. She has taught a variety of color classes at the Rhode Island School of Design ranging from the theory and psychology of color, to color consulting. 3 of 4 people found the following review helpful. Very detailed guide to color By Parka Color - The Professional's Guide is a 256-page paperback authored by Karen Triedman. It seems pretty comprehensive in terms of coverage and should serve as a good reference to graphic designers and those who want to learn more about colour.The content is split into six chapters. The first talks about the science of colours and how they work, light, colour schemes and for application, the pigments and how they are created.Second chapter is on the psychological and cultural context. It looks at what colours mean to different people from different places and eras.Third chapter looks at how colours are used in paintings, photography and how colour is associated with different emotions and evoke them.The fourth and fifth chapter deals with graphic design and also how colours are used in real life, such as for store displays, setting up furniture, interior design and more.Last chapter looks at how colours are used in films, both life action and animation.The book is very informative with lots of photos, interviews with experts and of course detailed writeup into the specific topics in each chapters and sub-chapters. It serves as an excellent primer to colour usage in art and design. I find the explanation simple and the use of illustrated examples helps enforce the concepts.

Tsunami Kids By Beryl This book brings emotions to the surface, when one reads about the upbringing by two unconventional parents and then to lose them both in such a horrible, very tragic manner, act of nature! Many of us undoubtedly read about the Tsunami and the devastation it left to everything in it's path but to read one man's actual first hand experience....it leads the reader Thank God they were not there and that a lot of people,did survive such an onset of water flooding the buildings, homes, etc. He writes from his heart and you can tell he has grown up with a strong bond with his siblings and how much he loves them and tries to remember he was brought up to look out for the ones younger than himself and to assist the ones older than him, if they need it. A very interesting book to read. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone wanting to read a true and honest book about human vs. nature, etc.
